Description
Have your students create a collaborative poster and learn about Walt Whitman in a fun and engaging way!
Your students will create an author biography by researching Walt Whitman and establishing his profile on a poster.
Students will learn about Whitman and his body of work as an influential poet and author. They will also develop collaboration and communication skills while engaging in a creative, hands-on learning experience. This project is perfect for National Poetry Month or any poetry-focused ELA lesson.
To construct the author study poster, students will work in groups to research Walt Whitman, transfer their findings to the poster boxes, color or paint the pieces, and assemble the final product.
The poster is made up of six pieces of paper, which can be printed on regular copy paper or card stock. Once taped together, the completed poster measures 28" x 15" and can last a lifetime if laminated.
