Have your students create a collaborative poster and learn about Mary Shelley in a new and engaging way! This creative project invites students to explore the life, imagination, and influence of one of literature’s most groundbreaking authors through a hands-on, collaborative activity. Students will research Mary Shelley’s life, major works, and lasting impact on literature and culture while also developing essential teamwork and communication skills.

This project pairs perfectly with a novel study of Frankenstein. Working in groups, students will research Mary Shelley, record their findings in the designated sections of the poster, and color each piece to bring their project to life. Once the six pages are taped together, the completed display forms a cohesive and visually striking poster. The final product measures 28" x 15", can be printed on regular copy paper or cardstock, and will last for years if laminated.

This resource includes step-by-step student directions, a project rubric, a graphic organizer, six blank coloring pages that combine into one complete poster, a Mary Shelley answer key, and a fully completed example showing both text and color.

This collaborative author study is a perfect addition to any literature unit on Frankenstein or Romantic-era writers, helping students connect deeply with Shelley’s enduring themes of creativity, ambition, and humanity.
