Hatchet Character Analysis Posters is the perfect addition to your novel study of the book Hatchet by Gary Paulsen. This engaging collaborative activity helps students dive deeper into characterization while creating visually impressive classroom displays that make literary analysis more meaningful and memorable.

Students will analyze the following characters from the novel: Brian, Mother, Father, Pilot, Mr. Perpich, and Terry. As students work together to examine character traits, development, conflicts, relationships, and motivations, they will strengthen important close reading and critical thinking skills in a creative, hands-on format.

Each group will complete a collaborative poster by transferring their character analysis onto six separate poster pages. Students will then color and assemble the pieces to create one large final display measuring approximately 28" x 15". Posters can be printed on standard copy paper or cardstock depending on your classroom needs.

This resource is designed to encourage teamwork, discussion, creativity, comprehension, and retention while giving students an opportunity to showcase their understanding of the novel in an engaging way that looks fantastic displayed in the classroom or hallway.

Included in this resource: Teacher Guide, Student Directions, Rubric, Brainstorm Character Analysis Worksheet, Blank Coloring Pages for Each Character, Answer Keys, Digitally Colored Examples for Every Character, and Editable Documents for the directions, rubric, and brainstorm worksheet.
