Description
Have your students create a collaborative poster and research any author in a fun and engaging way! This flexible activity allows students to choose an author of interest, conduct research, and design an author biography poster that showcases the author’s life, achievements, and body of work. There are two different silhouette versions included, giving you options to best fit your classroom theme or students’ preferences.
Throughout the process, students will strengthen their collaboration and communication skills as they work together to research, design, and assemble their final project. They’ll begin by conducting research on their chosen author and recording their findings in the designated sections of the poster. Next, they’ll color or paint and assemble the pieces to create a striking visual display. Once taped together, the six-piece poster measures approximately 28" x 15" and can be printed on regular paper or cardstock. For long-term use, you can laminate the final product to preserve it for classroom display.
This resource includes step-by-step student directions, an author study project rubric, and a graphic organizer (all provided in both PDF and editable Word document formats). It also includes two different versions of blank coloring pages (six pages each) that come together to form one cohesive poster.
