Have your students create a collaborative poster and learn about Amy Tan in a new and engaging way! This interactive project invites students to explore the life and literary contributions of the acclaimed author through a creative, hands-on biography poster. Students will learn about Amy Tan’s background, cultural influences, and powerful storytelling while developing collaboration and communication skills.

Working in small groups, students will research Amy Tan, record their findings in the designated sections of the poster, and color or paint each piece to complete their project. Once the six pages are taped together, the final product forms a cohesive and visually striking display. The completed poster measures 28" x 15", can be printed on regular copy paper or cardstock, and will last for years if laminated.

This resource includes step-by-step student directions, an author study project rubric, a graphic organizer, six blank coloring pages that combine into one complete poster, an Amy Tan author study answer key, and a fully completed example showing both text and color.

This collaborative author study is a wonderful addition to any novel study from The Joy Luck Club to the vignette Two Kinds and beyond!
