Description

Have your students create engaging collaborative posters while learning about Literary Legends in a fun, meaningful, and highly visual way. This project transforms traditional author studies into an interactive learning experience that encourages research, discussion, and creativity.

Students will create literary legends posters by researching influential authors and establishing detailed author profiles using collaborative poster templates. As students explore each writer’s life, impact, and body of work, they deepen their understanding of literature while practicing essential research and analysis skills. Throughout the process, students also develop collaboration and effective communication skills as they work together to complete a shared final product.

This resource includes a generic author study template that can be used with any author, making it easy to reuse this project across multiple units, grade levels, or literary movements.

To complete the project, students work in groups to research a specific author and organize their findings into designated sections of the poster. They then transfer their research to the poster pieces, collaborate to color or decorate each section, and assemble the final display by taping the pages together. The hands-on nature of the project helps students stay engaged while reinforcing accountability and teamwork.

Each collaborative poster is made up of six printable pages that can be printed on standard copy paper or cardstock. Once assembled, the completed poster measures approximately 28 inches by 15 inches, making it ideal for bulletin boards, hallway displays, and classroom decor. Laminating the finished poster allows it to last for years.
