Romeo and Juliet Character Collabs Project

Have your students analyze characters from Shakespeare’s tragedy “Romeo and Juliet” in a fun and engaging way with this Character Collabs Project. Students will use multiple characterization techniques to explore each character’s traits, demonstrate comprehension of the play, and showcase their findings on a beautiful collaborative poster.

This hands-on project encourages students to think critically, make inferences, and develop empathy for the characters. It also fosters collaboration, communication, and creativity as students work together to complete their final display.

The project focuses on eleven of Shakespeare’s most memorable characters—Romeo, Juliet, Benvolio, Friar Laurence, Nurse, Paris, Prince Escalus, Lord Capulet, Lady Capulet, Mercutio, and Tybalt. Students analyze their assigned character, transfer their insights onto the poster layout, color the six poster sections, and assemble the final 28" x 15" display. Each section can be printed on standard paper or card stock and laminated for lasting classroom use.

This resource includes a Teacher Guide, Student Directions, Rubric, Brainstorm Worksheet, Blank Coloring Pages, Answer Keys, Digitally Colored Examples for every character, and Editable Documents (directions, rubric, and brainstorm worksheet).
