Description
Have your students create a collaborative poster and learn about Charles Dickens in a new and engaging way! Students will research Dickens and design an author biography poster that highlights his remarkable life and literary legacy. Through this creative project, they will gain a deeper understanding of Dickens’s works and lasting influence as one of the most celebrated authors in history.
This activity is perfect for any unit on Dickens’s novels, including A Christmas Carol, A Tale of Two Cities, Great Expectations, Oliver Twist, and David Copperfield. Along the way, students will also develop skills in collaboration, communication, and creative expression as they work together to complete their final masterpiece.
Students will work in groups to conduct research on Charles Dickens, record their findings in the designated sections of the poster, color or paint each part, and assemble the completed design. The poster is composed of six printable pages that can be printed on regular paper or card stock. Once taped together, the finished display measures approximately 28" x 15" and can be laminated for long-term classroom use.
