Description
Celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month in May with this one-pager research project that invites students to explore the lives and contributions of influential people throughout history. This creative and engaging activity works well as a standalone assignment, enrichment task, or culminating project during an AANHPI Heritage Month unit.
Students combine research, writing, and creative design as they analyze the accomplishments, impact, and significance of their chosen individual. The one-pager format encourages critical thinking while allowing students to present their learning visually and artistically.
Completed projects result in beautiful classroom displays and eye-catching bulletin boards that highlight AANHPI Heritage Month and celebrate student learning.
This resource includes
Student directions for the one-pager project, a rubric for assessment, an example one pager featuring Malala Yousafzai, ten blank printable templates (optional), and an editable Word document so teachers can modify the instructions or rubric as needed.
